Units needing repair ship with no problem when packaged
correctly. Our goal is to never receive a unit and have to call you
back to decide if you want to make a claim with the carrier. The question from
the carrier is always, "Was it packaged correctly?"
So, an extra minute to make sure it is packaged correctly helps ensure safe arrival of your unit. Although most packers do a great
job, it's your equipment - watch them and request the following packaging
guidelines.
- PACKAGING BOX: Use a box at least 1/3 larger than
unit on all sides. Units over 20 pounds require
a heavy-duty corrugated box. Double boxing
( a smaller box within a larger box with
padding in between ) is best for easily damaged units.
- BUBBLE WRAP: The unit should be wrapped in plastic or
bubble wrap. This ensures no scratches
& keeps debris from getting inside openings
on units. Bubble wrap is
best because it protects two ways. It
keeps the unit free of debris and it
cushions all sides.
- PEANUTS: Packing peanuts work well, but it is important to
fill the box all the way so the unit won't
be able to shift towards the edge of the
box and take an impact. Remember, the lid
of the box should close down tightly on
the peanuts to avoid shifting.
A unit that has 2 inches of bubble wrap taped around it, and
put in a large enough box TIGHTLY FULL of peanuts on all sides will arrive in its
original condition every time.
Crumpled newspaper is almost as good as peanuts but same principles apply - fill box so unit stays in center & does not shift.
( broken foam type materials are not recommended, as they tend to disintegrate further during shipping )
